Fish consumption per capita stood at 8.9 kg in the first 8 months of 2011, which means 3.4 kg less than 5 years ago

In the first eight months of 2011 the per capita fish consumption came to 8.9 kg, 5.9% less than the 9.4 kg of the same months of 2010. This consumption is below the 11.3 kilograms of 2008 and 12.3 kilograms in 2006. Exports of fish products in value grew 13.9%, up determined, within the main species, the molluscs and to a lesser extent, fish fillets and frozen. For its part, the volume of shipments grew 7.3% due to crecinimiento three of the four main products, squid, frozen fish and shrimp.
